National Immunization Awareness Month

You have the power to protect yourself against  vaccine-preventable diseases.

Vaccines aren’t just for kids. Adults may need vaccines to protect against whooping cough, flu, pneumonia, and shingles. Ask your doctor about vaccines you may need for your age, health conditions, job, or lifestyle. Talk to your doctor or nurse about whether you have missed any vaccines.

It is especially important for patients with certain health conditions to be up to date on recommended vaccinations, since they are at increased risk for complications from certain vaccine-preventable diseases. The APWU Health Plan covers CDC recommended immunizations under our  preventive care and screenings  benefit. Your vaccination could be  covered at 100% when you use an in-network provider to receive recommended vaccines .

Talk to your doctor or other health care professional to make sure you get the vaccines that you need.
